(A quick note here, I've added these synopsis for people to go back and remind themselves about what happened or if people come in later and don't want to start at the beginning, they can read these really fast, but they are not a replacement for watching our videos as they are not full descriptions. If you don't want to video, you will miss most of the comedy and all of the fighting as I am not going to do a play by play of each attack. So, please check out our videos)
Day 20 1/25/2023 Episode 31 and 32
Episode 31
Mountains Outside Aping
Idham tries to mentally knock on the dragon’s mind, and it injures Idham instead, dazing and immobilizing him. And then the dragon talks to Idham in his mind. Idham asks him what we should do. The dragon asks him questions. The dragon asks who we are, and we reply with traveler’s trying to make our way in the world, and having messed with some gods. The staff of Fangar is saying, “Hey, daddy.” Over and over. Felix takes the staff off his back and holds it in front of him, and Gerebor looks at him and gets in pretty close. Felix says hi and Gerebor says he has his tooth. It’s one of his fangs. He gifted it to someone. Gerebor asks if Felix is comfortable giving information about him to the group and Felix says no, so Gerebor will omit. He is one of the four Primalis. He and his siblings were there at the creation of the world, through the last two destructions, and will be here until it’s gone. He gives his gratitude for freeing him. He slightly inclines his head. We all bow to him.
Felix wants the information that was omitted and Gerebor says it will be painful. Felix says go ahead and gets damaged and dazed. In Felix’s head, he says, it is time for you to return to the school now that you have formed a stronger bond with the staff, it is time for you to go back and take on the next step in your training and the dragon says he can take him there. The school is offset from the rest of the plan and even Rashakk can’t get there. And then asks Felix if we can all go with him, and Felix says he has no choice so yes. He asks the rest of us what we would want from him as we did no small thing freeing him. To Gwyn about her contracting, he says he knows nothing of them as they are below him, but there is a place to go with that info, with those that have the teachings and knowledge to better use shadow and learn all that she needs. He tells us that he is the Primalis of shadow. He believes that Gwyn and him shall have more dealings in her future.
Xander wants to know about the staff. Gerebor says it’s the staff of 1000 faces. It has the knowledge of every spell that has ever existed. Once you have learned a spell, you may channel it through the staff once. It will regain the ability to cast that spell after a time. And to Idham, he says he could return him to a place of standing among his people. Return what he has lost to him. Idham says he has made peace with it, but not with who did it. Idham wants to know how much of his past Gerebor knows, and the reply is as much as he wants. Time was created after him so it means nothing to him. Idham asks a question mentally and we don’t get to know. The sword is called The Nine Lives Stealer. But there is a curse on this sword. Use it at your own peril. The curse has been placed by a true master and is hidden, and may be something that we never find out. It may be cursed for a specific person or in a way that must be activated under certain effects. The person who cursed the sword, the touch of Vulkus lies on it. Az says he has no desire to place upon the dragon. And Raya says money if there’s extra gold, she could use it to fix her ship. The dragon gives her some of his scales. He rubs his head on the ground, leaving 88 scales, each one about 10 x 7 feet. Each one is thick. She thanks him. He asks if we wish to disembark. He says from the planet. He says we may sit on his back. Xander asks Vulkus what Gerebor is talking about, and she says he is talking about a school of shadow magic that is off the planet, but also kind of on it. It’s hard to explain. The Raya lowers and settles on the pond as the dragon stands up and lowers an enormous paw. Raya is coming but Valira is not. She says the school is hoity toity and she left them for a good reason. We climb into the dragon’s paw and he raises us to his back.
The dragon lifts into the sky, all four of his wings beating. He takes off at an insane pace, the world going by very fast as we pass all of Sypet in 15 seconds. We see in front of us the unexplored mountain looming in the center of Krysanthia. He flies around it over and over and magical bs happens and the world shifts. We see a world covered in ash, an enormous crater and a big black building in the center.
Episode 32
The Shadow School
We land right outside of this building. It’s quite large with numerous towers, a grand hall, and made of all of this black material, looking similar to the ash that surrounds it. It is polished though. When we land, there’s a puff of ash as we’re jostled from the landing. He reaches a hand back and we all climb on. He sets us down in the ash. He says our business is concluded for now and we’ll all see each other again sooner than not. To Felix, it all looks the same as last time he arrived. Gwyneira feels an aura of shadow energy surrounding this whole building. Felix starts walking toward the school, and Gwyneira follows. We all head toward the school.
We arrive at the front doors, 30 ft tall. Felix reaches his hand toward the door and Gwyneira uses shadow magic. As she does so, she feels it merge with the shadows surrounding the whole place. She feels both energized and drained at the same time. Felix reaches out and pushes the door open. Inside is a long hallway with doors and more hallways, the main hallway leading to a courtyard at the end. Walking toward us is a figure in a hooded blue robe. They are tall, though not quite Idham’s size. They approach. Felix gets down on one knee and they incline their head. We cannot see their face with the hood covering. They welcome us and say Rashakk cannot touch us here. They greet each of us. They raise a blue gloved hand and a little black flame pops out, and bounces around the air. It “sits” on Felix’s shoulder. Then it heads off and Az follows, heading to a room to rest. The rest of us follow the being down the hallway. We go past where Az went off, a hallway with stairs, and through the courtyard. As we walk through it, everything appears alive but feels dead. We continue to a large room where there is a beautiful enormous stained glass window. There is a single long table but only using about a quarter of the grand hall. We smell fresh food. We are directed to sit, eat, enjoy, and rest. When we have had our fill, we will be guided to our rooms and may talk tomorrow. Tomorrow we begin. They glide out through the door.
There are six place settings. We sit down, one seat empty. A minute later, a skeleton walks out and welcomes us, saying our food will be out soon. Felix says the skeleton is named Norm. A few minutes later, a dozen skeletons come out with steaming plates of food. We realize we haven’t had a solid meal like this since we arrived in Sypet. We eat, with most of us eating a ton but Idham slowly. Felix warns Raya about them fixing her arm and that it might hurt quite a lot. A voice from somewhere randomly says the flame is an asshole. We glance toward the voice to see a 3 and a half foot tall, long gray haired cat with a red scarf around his neck and an odd looking bowless crossbow. It’s Mist. He last saw Kav in Honland, going to visit the rest of the family. Mist jumps up to the sixth plate. He says they owe him a pretty penny since he won the bet about when Gwyneira would show up. Mist wants to know why the rest of the group are here.
Felix asks Mist why he’s here. Mist says, “The two of the Hex that we thought were the leaders were only two of many.” The people here are the most anti-Hex, so they are trying to recruit Mist to help take out the Hex. Mist shows Xander Ankle Biter, his tri-barrel handgun, and when Xander asks to see it, Mist lets him. He hands it back to Mist.
We eat our fill and the skeletons clear the table. Mist bids us goodbye as he’s taking a quick trip. He leaves the room. Felix leads us to where the bunks are so we can head to bed. We go back through the courtyard and up the stairs to one of the towers. We arrive in a common room with a handful of beds. Azazel is sleeping soundly. All his weapons and armor are gone. Xander and Gwyneira find bunks and fall asleep while Felix and Idham talk. Felix and Idham settle in as well.
Felix is awoken first by the little fire saying good morning over and over. It bounces off and goes to Idham, and hesitantly says good morning after Felix threatens it. It keeps going and bounces on his head. Xander and Gwyneira are both woken by it, and Felix leaves. Az is still asleep. When Idham says something, it sounds excited. Idham tells him to follow Felix since Felix missed the little flame. We don’t see Raya. Gwyneira and Xander follow Felix. Idham is still on his bed, and the flame bounces between Idham and the door. It wants him to follow him. Idham wants to meditate, so it leads him to a garden or some such. At the top of stairs, Felix sees two figures, one in blue and one in green. We walk down the stairs, Gwyneira and Xander taking the lead. When we reach the bottom, the two figures turn and walk out to the main hallway. The blue being turns to Gwyneira and in her head, they say you will come with me, your teaching begins now. The green one turns to Felix, and in his head says, time to be broken again. Felix turns around and hugs Xander, saying I’ll see you on the other side, and then walks away. Xander is confused and Idham tells him to come with him. Xander goes along with Idham.
Felix arrives in the regrettably familiar operating room. Standing there is a being in a dark deep red. They direct Felix to lay down. He asks about the staff and they say to keep a hold of it. He lies down and the room begins to fill with a dense smoke. Felix’s screams of agony echo around the room.
Idham and Xander arrive in the courtyard. Raya is in one of the trees, reclined in some of the branches. Xander goes to sit under one of the trees to meditate. Idham asks Raya what she’s doing. She is trying to make contact with The Raya and cannot. Idham sits and leans against the tree she’s in. Gwyneira is led to a room that when she steps in, has blue flames in candle holders around the room. In the middle is the statue of a demon. She is directed to place her hands on the statue. When she does, she feels her power start to suck out of her. She collapses to her knees. She is told that now she must face herself. A clone of herself of shadow energy is created.
The day passes and the flame leads Idham, Raya, and Xander to lunch and dinner. Evening approaches and the flame leads them back to the room. Az is still there, asleep. Idham shakes him and he groans, saying it’s the first actual sleep he’s gotten. Idham says to go back to sleep, he just wanted to make sure he’s alive. Xander wants to know where Felix and Gwyn are. Idham says it’s a shadow magic school, but Xander is still concerned.
Felix is brought back by the green one and killed by the red one dozens of times. Gwyneira is forced to fight her shadow clone with no power points. Felix and Gwyn don’t return to the room that night. Xander tosses and turns all night. The next morning, Idham, Xander and Raya wake up. There’s another figure in the room robed in pure black. They say Gwyneira and Felix will be indisposed for a little time, and the three of them are to do as they wish. They say it will likely take longer than a week, and maybe much longer, before they learn their lessons.
At the end of the first week, Felix and Gwyneira are released from one night. Az did wake up a couple of times but mostly stayed in the room. Felix and Gwyneira head to the courtyard, both hunched and exhausted. Idham gives Gwyn Ringo to snuggle with and Xander gives a light hug to Felix and grabs him water. They both curl up in some grass, and Xander comes back with two glasses of water, one for each of them. Xander and Felix talk. We grab food and settle in for another night. The next morning, they are waiting again. Gwyn curses and Felix just sighs. They are taken back to the same rooms. They tell Felix to focus himself through the staff as he is brought up and down through the staff. They tell Gwyn to reach through the statue to reach the power behind it. Xander has Vulkus teach him some craft. On the seventh day, Felix is released. Gwyneira is given an option, one more day, or take the rest of the day to herself and try again next week. Felix is returned on the seventh day but Gwyneira is not. Felix sits down in the courtyard, holding the staff in his hands. He feels like the staff is a part of him. He doesn’t feel a separate entity in the staff, it just feels like his own mind. That evening, Felix and Xander sit in the courtyard, skipping dinner. The next morning, still no Gwyneira.
Gwyneira wakes up lying on the floor, in the room with the blue flames and the demon statue. The blue cloaked being stands above her. They say her remaining efforts paid off. She now has successfully contracted herself with a demonic entity. It’s up to her how much she chooses to share with the entity and how much she wants to learn about it. The more she knows, the more she can utilize it. The more it knows the stronger the bond, but also increasing risk of a merger, which is dangerous. As she is now, with the level of being contracted, she would likely be able to win, but nothing is guaranteed. Make her choices wisely. Idham had spent time talking to Raya and Xander to Vulkus. Gwyn rejoins the group, entirely exhausted. We get through the day, relaxing. We sleep through the night.
