The world of Runner's Fortune is one that is quite intermixed with the previous campaigns that Nate and I have done, including the last campaign we played that included Nick and Zac. In order to help some of the confusion, we decided to give a description of what happened, as much as we can remember anyway, to help people stay in the loop. This is the campaign we played before "The Pillars of Sypetia," known to us as "The Apex Adventurers," but we also use "The Walkers of Wardenia" as an alternate title. There are a few details added to the story that came from earlier things that Nate did, but it isn't important to the over plot. This campaign very heavily plays into the campaign we are playing now. I hope you enjoy.

The Story
In the beginning, there was Mist - a male assassin catfolk, Kara - a female witch valkyrie, and Ezmund - a male warden fire primal (fire genasi in DnD terms). Though we were all originally journeying through The Wardenian Union separately, we joined the same caravan. It all started when we stopped a day outside of Yawato. While we slept that night, we were startled awake by screams of panic. Mysterious fires were being set around camp and tents were burning, but when we set out to investigate, we find only a single set of footprints with nothing leading to or away from them. Deciding that there was nothing we could do, we decided to reconvene in the morning and head to bed. Upon waking, Mist, Kara, and Ezmund get together, and head out to get some information from a nearby farmer. When we approached him, we found he was very displeased because there were these beings who keep coming to his farm and stealing stuff from him. With the condition that we are to take care of the problem, he directed us into the forest, toward the house of the Jacobs Family who are responsible for the fires as well as the stealing. As we neared the house, we came across two people who attacked us. We fought back and ended up killing them. One was, unfortunately, just a teenage boy and we felt horribly guilty over his death. We continued forward, and as we neared the house, we came across a blind giant, who was friend to the young boy. We convinced him that the boy's father, the head of the Jacobs Family, was the one who had killed the boy. Enraged by this, the giant attacked the house, killing almost everyone inside. The father and a few others managed to survive and killed the giant in retaliation. In the chaos, we were able to attack and kill the remaining members of the Jacobs family. Inside the house, we found chests of weapons with strange markings on the end. We take some with us just in case, and head back to camp before the caravan continue forward. The next day, we arrived at Yawato, the capital of Wardenia.
In a different direction, at the same time, another group met up, Woord'n - a nonbinary raven sworn (paladin of some kind with an oath to the Raven Queen) awakened stuffed red panda, Ferchick - a female faerie mage, and Reiner - a male dwarven warlord. They too are traveling with a caravan to the city and upon teaming up, decided to go exploring in the nearby area. It is there that they come across a small cave system. When they go in, they find monsters, mainly minotaurs, that they are able to fight and kill. While there, they find a letter to the Jacobs family from the Cult of the Forest, talking about an attack on Yawato and requesting to get together to handle supplies. The group heads back to the caravan, where they continue their journey and also arrive in Yawato the next day.
Still with their caravans, Kara, Mist, Ezmund, Ferchick, Reiner, and Woord'n all arrived at the Yawato. As the two caravans met up at the gates to the city, the caravan's combine into one as they headed through the wall. Kara, Ezmund, and Mist noticed Woord'n, Ferchick, and Reiner who also noticed them, as they all look like strange traveling companions among the other members of the caravan. Upon speaking with each other, we all realized that the two groups we found, the Jacobs Family and The Cult of the Forest were somehow related and decided that, together, we should all look into it. From there, we headed to a nearby inn to gather some information and try to figure out what the symbol we found on the weapons might mean. While there, we talked with the bartender who was reluctant to answer our questions, but eventually did so. The symbol comes from an organization called The Hood, one of three criminal syndicates currently residing in the entirety of Wardenia, and the man behind the bar was a part of the Hood. We left, deciding we didn't want to spend the night at the sketchy inn.
We headed down the street to a new inn where, on the way, we were ambushed by members of the Hood. They attacked us and we fought back, wiping most of them out. One escaped, though we let him, and we followed him back to the inn we had come from. Inside, we found everyone who had been there previously, customers, "customers," and everyone else who was in the building, dead. We followed the trail of the escaped member down to the basement, where we met with the leaders of The Hood, and attempted to get them to help us with the Cult of the Forest (as the Jacobs Family had been mostly wiped out by us, but the cult was not). We explained to them about the weapons we found with the Jacobs family, and for that information they said they will leave us be until we leave Yawato instead of killing us. We accepted the offer, and they told us we should go speak with Lord Belier, the Lord of Yawato. We left and went to the other inn to rest for the night.
The next day, we went to the castle to speak with Lord Belier in order to tell him about the threat on Yawato. There we met Lord Belier (human), Raquel (female half-elf sorcerer), Voorhiz (female dark elf monk/barbarian), Jalen (female gnome financial advisor), and Jaspar (male dwarf cleric/religious leader). Lord Belier completely dismissed us, not believing what we told him, and was upset that we bothered him for no reason. Raquel and Voorhiz escorted us out of the castle, where they stopped us to say that something was wrong with Lord Belier. They directed our group to an area in the underground as Raquel had been able to track a powerful magical energy there and believed it to be affecting Lord Belier. So, we left the castle and headed to a door next to an inn that we were told led to the underground. There, we were told that we had to pay admittance to get to the underground. People generally went there to test their skills and to practice fighting, so they were charging an entrance fee to deal with the clean-up. But we were able, as a group, to convince the man at the door that we shouldn't have to pay, and we headed down.
After getting down the stairs, we cleared the first room, and headed to second. In that room we came across Kav, a male worgen berserker/barbarian who had cleared the room already. His companion, Linda, was missing her arm and ran out of the underground screaming. We talked with him, but then we heard a female screaming getting closer, and into the room flew Screel, a male fae-touched divine magic user, who was carrying Nakii, a female tiefling bard. The three new people decided to join us, and we continued on. We headed on to the next room, where we found a hole in the ground that led to the Shade (the underdark essentially for D&D players) where we had to fight some umberhulks that had been previously damaged and thus were easier to beat. In another room, we had to choose who to fight between three enemies and ended up choosing the one who ended up being a high dexterity user with a tri barrel pistol. When we killed him, Mist claimed the gun as his own. In the last room, we found a portal that led us to somewhere unknown, where we met a single blue abishai with a staff. We fought him, we beat him, but six more blue abishai appeared, taking the staff, and warning us to stay out of their way. They teleported away and we left.
After leaving the underground successful, we headed back to the castle where we found Lord Belier cured of whatever mind control had been used on him. He was fine again, and taking the threat seriously, sent Raquel out to take care of the Cult of the Forest by using her magic to levitate the golems from the castle walls to fight them, showing how strong her magic is. In thanks, Lord Belier gave us Fort Garthax, a small uninhabited keep right outside the city. He also requested that we go clear out the Fortress of Blight a few days outside of the city as it had been taken over. Before leaving we consulted with Jalen, who helped us hire a few people to help clean and take care of our new fort, and we left the castle check it out, each taking our own rooms. We rested and explored the city, meeting Meyoshi, the inner-city blacksmith who was a cheapskate and we decided we didn't like. Then, we ended up going to Harikari, the other city blacksmith who we befriended instead. Kav met with Davork and came across his shop (Davork's Magical Menagerie) at this time as well. After that, we headed to the Fortress of Blight.
When we arrived, we were able to get the beings to come outside so we could speak with them. We find out that they were orcs who had taken the fortress as their own during the Orc Wars. They won it in the fighting, but Lord Belier didn’t consider it as their property and wanted it back. Between us and them, we decided to have one-on-one fight, with the Orc leader, Ogluck. With some help from his allies in secret, Mist was able to use his gun to beat Ogluck. Mist's gun is then named Ankle Biter, as Mist used it to shoot at Ogluck’s ankles, and the orcs chose to call Mist "Orcs Bane." While there, we came to find that the Fortress of Blight had a large and stable portal to the Shade and decided to let them stay there instead of kicking them out so that they could keep an eye on the portal. We also didn’t think it was right to kick them out. We headed back to Yawato, where we stopped at our Fort but are brought in by the Hood as we left Yawato. We told them about the portal to the Shade and offered to let them use it as there are good resources down there for them, as long as they left us alone and even worked with us. They agreed.
We headed back to our fort where we were again captured and dragged back to Lord Belier. Mist, having caught on to the soldiers coming before they arrived, was able to hide, but didn’t have time to warn the group. The rest of the group was able to convince the soldiers that Mist had died, and they dragged the group back to the castle with Mist following behind. Heading through the inner circle that is right outside the castle, the group noticed that everyone was weirdly super happy, to the point of being unbelievable, and noticed blue orbs up along the top of the city wall. We're able to find out that they were mind controlling devices. Ending up back in the castle, we found that Lord Belier was mad that we didn't take the Fortress of Blight back from the orcs. He put the group, all but Mist, in the prison under the castle. Mist tried to get the group out, but before he was able to do so, we were approached by a guy who says he is Lord Belier's son, Shawn Belier. He broke the group out on the condition that we left Yawato and went to retrieve the crown of his ancestors that had been lost by Lord Belier's grandfather. If he had the crown, he could take the throne from his father, who he believed was unjustly ruling. We agreed and he set us free. After fleeing the castle, we quickly left the city after picking up a horse (Trickle is his name, but Kav called him Reggie), and a cart.
On the way to the Cave of Folly, where the crown was, we came across the last remnants of the Jacobs family that survived all the other attacks, as they jumped us and tried to attack. We beat them and continued on. Our next stop was at a large town where they were holding a festival. We came to find out that they were sacrificing people to a god and wanted to quickly leave the city, though Kav and a few stayed behind for a short period. Mist stole a bunch of belt pouches from these people as we decided they were bad people. Deciding it was a good idea, Kav and Kara teamed up to do some more. Kara used a daylight spell where she blinded the whole square and Kav tried to steal pouches as well, but ended up taking everyone's belts as well as their pouches, causing a good amount of the people's pants to be dropped. We left.
Outside of town, as it was getting late, we stopped for the night to set up camp. Unbeknownst to the rest of the group, it was the full moon, a night that Kav would go into an uncontrollable rage. The group fought and tried to stop him, but failed and he ran off into the night. The next morning, we found that Kav attacked the nearby town, killing a few hundred civilians. Everyone decided to flee the town, and we came across them as we woke up the next morning. In the fleeing caravan, Mist recognized someone, a girl he had known when he was young who had been kidnapped by two individuals, the Wax-Faced Man and the Hawk-Faced Lady. She was on a golden litter, being carried by slaves that had been blinded, had their tongues cut out, and their ears cut off. Her name was Emily. Deciding to try and save her, the group teamed up to try and scare everyone away (being far enough away to not notice the slaves and not realizing what they were). Kav stood in front trying to appear scary, while Kara stood behind him with daylight in her hands and her wings spread to make it appear like he had wings. Ezmund also stood behind him to make it look like he had an extra set of arms. Nakii played ominous music and Ferchick made an illusion to project the image 30 ft tall with Kav in his rage form, white instead of his regular burgundy, to scare the people, while Mist summoned shadow hands that rose from the ground. Both Reiner and Woord'n ran around and screamed at people, scaring them.
The illusion worked to scare away the rest of the town folk, but the slaves with the golden litter didn't flee, and the Wax-Faced Man stood with them. We attempted to save Emily from those holding her captive, but instead ended up fighting after we found out that they had been prostituting her across Wardenia, but we couldn’t win. The Wax-Faced Man overpowered us and then used a mass teleportation spell to take Emily, himself, and all the slaves away, leaving the golden litter behind. We took the golden litter with us into the town, using the leftover blood of the citizens Kav killed to paint warnings on the town gates, and explored the now empty town.
While doing so, we came across a church with an ominous presence. Woord'n went inside alone, being the only one able to enter, and saw a black sword on an altar surrounded by piles of dead bodies. They decided they wanted the sword and were able to withstand the evil miasma to go get it. The miasma was absorbed into the sword, and Woord'n obtained Black Razor. We found a good spot to rest for the night and then continued on to the Cave of Folly.
Outside of the Cave of Folly we came across a group of guards, stationed from Yawato with the job to not let anyone enter the cave. They had been there twenty or so years and were holding off a group of bandits in the area as well. The leader of the soldiers had been by Belier's side for a while before being sent here, and from him we learned that he never knew a Shawn Belier. Though we were starting to question Shawn, we also knew that this guy had been out here for a while and just may not know the truth. While talking, the leader of the soldiers said something we didn't like, and Kav went to slap him for it, but ended up hitting him too hard and accidentally snapping his neck. In the confusion, we headed inside the Cave of Folly.
Inside, we fought some giant worms, Woord’n took some of their blood because it would make a good poison, and we headed deeper into the cave where we came across a large gap that we were able to traverse. On the other side, we found that the cave had been covered in ice. At the bottom of a long slope, we came across something that looked like a chimera but with the wrong animal parts. So, we called it the Kindamera. It was sleeping as we first entered the room. We snuck around it to a cave in the back of the room, trying to find the crown. We found the body of the King, but he was missing his head. In the room, we got some gems and stuff out of the wall before realizing that the room was sinking, and we had to quickly get out of there before it sank all the way under the ice, and we would be trapped. We are successful in fleeing, and that was when the Kindamera woke up. We saw the crown at his feet, and we bartered with the Kindamera to get it. He let us take it but gave us limited time to flee the room before he killed us instead. We ran but he triggered a trap almost immediately, turning the tunnel up into an ice slide. Through some effort, we were able to quickly climb to the top, avoiding a stream of fire that had been directed at us from the bottom from the Kindamera. We sprinted through the Cave of Folly and back to the entrance where the soldiers were fighting bandits. We decided we didn't want deal with that, and got the horse and cart, and ran away.
On the way back to Yawato, we stopped for the night in the dead town again. Before we were able to go to sleep, Kara put on the crown because she wanted to and then became obsessed with it, refusing to take it off due to the magic inherent in the crown. The group teamed up to get it back, with Mist being stealthy and taking the crown back without touching it to make certain that he didn't get obsessed with it as well. We were able to knock Kara out, hide the crown and all get a good night sleep. The next morning, Kav made friends with a bird he dubbed Snarf, who he asked to go to Yawato to keep an eye on things for him and come back to tell him if anything of interest happened. Snarf agreed and left, and we continued on toward Yawato. When we got back to our fortress, we found that Lord Belier killed the people we had hired to keep an eye on the fort for us. We bury them, angry about the waste of life, and head into town.
Once in town we headed up to the central ring, where we found dead bodies everywhere and the people who survived couldn’t be seen as they were holed up in their houses. While sneaking through town to get to the gates of the castle, we came across Meyoshi's shop, where he was holed up. Most of us headed in the front door, which was trapped but badly. We were able to avoid the trap and get inside quite easily. We talked to him, and Kav, who was exploring houses nearby, jumped onto the roof and howled down the chimney. Meyoshi, scared by the sudden howl, tripped over his own trap that he had in front of the front desk that was also very badly placed, set it off, and got impaled and burned. We decided he's dead anyway, so we may as well loot his shop. Kav grabbed a bastard sword.
From there, we headed to the castle entrance, where there were soldiers ready to fight, and Jasper who stood at the top of the stairs. We fought, killing the soldiers, when an old fae-touched came and fought Jasper, yelling about how he gave over being the head of the religion to him and he wasn't doing the right things. This fae-touched stabbed Jasper, killing him, but before he was dead, Jasper was able to drain the fae-touched of his power, de-aging him into being just barely an adult and caused him to lose all the power he had gained over the years. We got inside the castle where we fought Lord Belier. Raquel had been gravely injured and Voorhiz was holding her captive but was really just keeping her safe. We cut the throne in half and with Shawn's help, we were able to kill Lord Belier.
After the battle, Ferchick and Reiner stayed behind in Yawato/went off to do their own thing (Jen and Rylee couldn’t join us anymore), and Screel stayed with Raquel. We learned that the fae-touched was named Kosiku (originally from our War on Heaven campaign) and he decided to come with us on our journey. We did some stuff around town, preparing to leave when Mist convinced Voorhiz's horse, Streak, to join us on our journey (Mist stole the horse) by telling him that Voorhiz knew that Mist was going to ask (a lie) and that the journey would be much more enjoyable than staying where he was (the truth). Streak agreed to come along, and Mist rode him back to our fort. We got our fort set up to run by itself again and with Shawn having the crown and, on the throne, we decided that we wanted to close up the portal to the Shade that we found in Yawato when we first met Kav and try to find a way to do so. We fight a blue wyvern that landed on our fort and was allied with the blue abishai. We leave town.
(Jaimie started taking notes at this point so the rest of the synopsis will be a bit more detailed)
After leaving the city, we traveled to the territory to the south, Awayashi. We followed the road until we came across an area that Kav recognized. Though we had to leave the main road, we followed him to a hut that Kav remembered. There, we came across a man who said his name was Ezekiel, as well as his party. Ezekiel recognized Kav, calling him Vak Kohetsu. Ezekiel was mad at Kav, yelling at him over something that he didn’t remember. We fought Ezekiel and his party, where Ezekiel got killed and resurrected by their necromancer, and killed again when we killed the rest of the party. We entered the hut where Kav recalled living right before he left to adventure and met us. He lived there with an older woman, Genetria, who took care of him after he first turned into a worgen, as well as gave him his ax, Sunflower.
We left the hut, letting our first horse, Trickle, stay as he was not a war horse and had struggled during every fight we had, and headed to the capital of Awayashi, a hunter town, aware of the fact that this is the city that Kav grew up in. He was ready to confront his father, Vaktis Kohetsu. As we got closer, Woord'n sent Rashii to scout ahead, but she got shot down by arrows. Being an astral being, she could just be summoned back, but we decided against doing that. We concocted a plan to get into the city by "offering" Kav and pretending that we caught him. Mist hid in the shadows while the rest of the group approached the guards at the main gate, who were all suspiciously duergar (dwarves from the Shade), even though this city used to be mainly human. We saw that the watchmen on the walls were human though. The duergar were unable to see Mist, though the human guard seemed to be able to do so. The human guard came down from the wall and directed us into the city to take Kav to his father which we do. Kav and his father had a confrontation. Knowing that that night was a full moon, and Kav would turn into his were-form, we left him with his father and went to stay at an inn. We asked some questions, finding out that Ezmund's mother probably went through the portal in the city to the Shade. It is also likely that Emily and the Wax-Faced Man travel to this city on and off.
That night, Kav got free easily as we didn't actually lock the chains that were around him. The ends were just tucked under his armpits. Kav got Sunflower back from us as we had gotten to the top of the inn and chucked it down into the street for him, knowing that it would help him from completely succumbing to his rage. He ripped up the streets, killed some people, and went off to fight his father. The fight ended with Vaktis getting beaten up but Kav getting knocked unconscious. Having Rashii watching over Kav, we knew that he was down, and the party went to assist. Hoping to avoid fighting at first and wait out Kav's rage, we tried lighting the house on fire to get the people outside. As we waited for that to happen, we went to check out the gallows, and broke them down so they couldn't be used just in case we failed. But we quickly found out that the house wouldn't light, and the fire was gone, sucked in by a fire elemental that Vaktis had in his employ. We were able to wake Kav from his magical sleep and as a group we fought Vaktis. Nakii was able to control the fire elemental to attack Vaktis, but it was only able to shoot out a single lava grenade. Vaktis was attacked by Kav who, unbeknownst to us, had what we called boom powder bought from Davork. When the lava grenade hit, the powder exploded, vaporizing the duergar that were assisting Vaktis, and mostly killing him, while also badly injuring Kav. As Kav finished off his father, the rest of the party went outside to avoid Kav's rage. We waited outside until the moon went down, and Kav returned to normal. He visited some dungeons in the basement, where the corpse of his mother remained, and he had been locked up after first being bitten by the worgen. He then grabbed a bag of holding off his father and the ring for the fire elemental. We escaped through the portal to the Shade (bringing our horse and cart along).
Inside the Shade, Ezmund was the only one of the group unable to see as it's quite dark. Kav started messing around with the bag of holding, pulling out cheese while Ezmund lit a torch. We came out in an area that Mist recognized as the Endless Waste, that takes up a third of the Shade. Mist had taken some time to study the Shade, so would likely be able to lead the group to civilization. We took some time to rest up a bit, taking shifts to keep watch, before heading through the dusty and dry terrain to find a city or town. We traveled all day, Nakii playing music to help with boredom. In the end, we spent several days traveling without incident. Finally, we got away from the dust and the ground turned to dirt, and from what we could tell, we'd been traveling for about a week. As we came to the dirt, we started to think that we may be being followed but couldn't see anyone behind us. The next day, we finally came across a path, one of polished black stone. We knew that down here Kara would be shunned as a valkyrie, so she decided to cover her wings. As we hit the path, we realized that we left a nice trail of footsteps behind us, so Nakii shifted into a deer and Nakii, Kav, and Mist ran around in an attempt to obscure our footprints before we stepped onto the path. We were still being followed though, so Mist sneakily headed back and found a blue abishai following us. Deciding to do nothing about it, we continued on.
We travelled about thirteen more hours until we finally saw flickering lights in the distance. As we got closer, we believed it to be a town, with stone buildings, and no wall around it. It was probably a dark elf settlement with about 30 buildings. In town, a man approached Ezmund and asked about his race, giving us the feeling that Ezmund's mom, and maybe even the caravan with Emily, had been through here recently. The man walked away, and we headed to the mansion in town that stood out from the rest of the city. After knocking, a human man answered the door in shackles. He said he had seen Ezmund's mom and the caravan. This man seemed to know Mist as well and stared at Kara through the whole conversation. He invited us in, and Mist had an urge that he needed to follow the man. Kav decided to sneak away to follow the blue abishai. Mist, Ezmund, and Nakii went inside the mansion while Kara, Kosiku, and Woord'n stay outside at first, and then they followed as well. All but Kav had been bewitched.
The main group headed to the basement, following the servant. There, we found holes in the floor, much like the ones we saw when we came across the umberhulks after just having met Kav. The blue abishai made his way to the basement as well. Kav, on the outside of the building still, pounced on the roof and attacked, cracking it as the whole building is made of obsidian. He brought his ax down on the second floor, completely shattering the whole building and falling all the way to the basement where he landed in the middle of the room. The blue abishai, who was old and frail, asked us to leave as he didn’t want to fight. Kav wanted the staff that the blue abishai had, so he threw it down and asked us again to leave. We chatted with him, and he wanted us to abandon Wardenia and our families, saying it would only bring us more pain than it was worth. After disagreeing, we ended up fighting. We fought with the blue abishai, whose staff seems to have a time reversal spell on it and ended up fighting umberhulks as well. While it's a struggle to win, and Nakii went down twice, we were able to kill the umberhulks and the blue abishai. Mist took the staff.
As the battle concluded and we finally settled down from it, Black Razor, Woord'n's sword, started to glow. The sword started to speak, wanting more, and Woord'n tried to talk with it and calm it down. The sword started to shift, and Woord'n tried to touch it with a divine touch to stop what was happening and Kosiku tried to help, but accidentally grabbed the blade. Black Razor let out a shriek and Kosiku fell to the ground, not moving. As Black Razor stopped shrieking, smoke started to billow out of it. From the smoke came a large, black demon. Kav ran forward and scooped it up into the bag of holding. He went for the leg and there was no more demon, or so we thought. Kav went to reach for some cheese, thinking we were all good, but the bag started eating his hand, slowly making its way toward his shoulder. Woord'n didn’t remember anything that happened after we had last left our fort, so Mist filled them in while Nakii tried to revive Kosiku, and the rest of the group tried to pull Kav's arm out of the bag. The bag was no longer a bag of holding, but a bag of devouring.
After checking him, we found that Kosiku still had a spark of life, so Woord'n tried to use stave death, but the radiant energy didn’t work on him, and he started to thrash around. They were able to pull the bag off of Kav's arm, and as his arm came out, he held bloody piece of cheese in his hand and his hand and arm were absolutely shredded. Heading over to Kosiku and noticing him down, Kav shoved the cheese into Kosiku's mouth, but nothing happened. Trying again, Woord'n used stave death but using necrotic energy instead of divine. Taking in the necrotic energy, Kosiku stopped thrashing and finally his eyes opened, pitch black, though he had no pulse. He stood, walking toward the bag of devouring. Kosiku and the bag both said, "Mine, I need the rest of me." Kara got the bag out of reach, flying over to Kav who was holding Kosiku's glaive, which he used to skewer the bag. The bag and Kosiku both shrieked and Kosiku collapsed to the ground. The bag of holding was just a cloth bag. Mist gave Kara the staff from the blue abishai to use, and Nakii used a song of healing, while Kav gave Kosiku some of his blood, and Woord'n used stave death again. Kosiku's body jolted, convulsed, and then lied still. When his eyes opened again, they were no longer black, but his pupils were blood red. He sat up. Kosiku was now a vampire... again. He had been able to stop being a vampire and wasn't when we first met him, but he has been turned back again and complained that his "mom" will be mad about it.
Kara used the staff on the bag, returning it to a bag of holding. Kav reached into the bag, pulling out more cheese and a decanter of endless water. Now trapped in the basement, tried to find a way out as the door was gone, so Kav tried to chuck Nakii through the hole he made, but missed a few times. Nakii didn’t get hurt, having been able to land on her feet. Kav tried to throw Mist next. He did this a few times, between Nakii and Mist, before Mist was able to get through the hole, narrowly avoiding the sharp points of obsidian. He tied a rope off and tossed it down, aiming for Kav and hitting him in the face as Kav put up a collapsible thirty-foot bridge. Everyone climbed out, when we heard movement from behind us and turned to see a trap door open, where the servant from earlier came out. He tried to persuade us to leave again, but we said no, we wanted to find our friends and families. So, he finally told us that Nakii would find her family in the next city over, while Mist would not find Emily, but the caravan would find us instead. Ezmund's mother didn't want to be found, and speed was not our ally in finding her, but she would be found in time. Kara needed to look further below, down in Hell, and Woord'n needed to continue to get life experiences. Kav needed to come to terms with the past and find her again. We headed to the next city, Saltier.
From where we were, it was three-day walk and we arrived and found it to be a large city. An enormous, eight story fortress was in the back and Mist knew a powerful sorcerer, the leader of the dark elves, lived there, named El-Shimmar. He was evil and sadistic, and older than he should be. There was also a red brick mansion that stood out. The city was also covered in driders. We first headed to a goblin enchanter who was able to fix Kav's broken bastard sword. We left town to rest. After resting for an eight-hour period, we went to the mansion. Nakii recognized the man who opened the door as her father. He didn't recognize her though, but when Mist introduced her, he slammed the door in our face. Kav knocked and the door cracked open, to show Nakii’s dad peering through on the other side. Enraged that he slammed the door in our faces, Kav intimidated Nakii's dad to put on one of our telepathy circlet's so the two could talk. Finally, he decided to allow us inside, and we stepped into the mansion. Another tiefling was there, a male who was one of Nakii’s brothers. It turned out that Nakii's family was indebted to the master with their lives.
Before heading inside, Nakii asked who her parents owed a debt to and were they currently in the house. Korlan was his name, and he was indeed currently home. The rest of the family were all here as well, and the family was the security for the house, though Korlan was strong enough on his own. We headed further inside. One of Nakii's sisters, Jezmer, wasn't tied up, but the other two were chained down. Korlan's wife, Esmerlen, sat at the head of the room next to him, so we talked. Jezmer sat on Korlan's lap and Kav then started to talk about selling Nakii to Korlan as we had agreed previously to trick him with this, but Korlan didn't want to pay for her. The rest of the group, other than Kara, had been frozen in place, but we could finally move again and did so, moving closer. Kav said that if he didn't want to pay, then Korlan could exchange Esmerlen for Nakii, and Korlan agreed. Woord'n gave Nakii a poison tipped dagger that melted organs. One of the chained sisters, Tess, wanted to be the next queen, so Korlan let her come up front. He made Nakii come forward, and she did so, attempting to be seductive. Her seduction worked and she was able to walk right up to Korlan. He dumped Jezmer out of his lap and Nakii took her place. He kissed her while she pretended to be into it, and then she stabbed him in the neck.
We fought, with Mist getting poison and also attacking Korlan. Esmerlen fought with us and Jezmer got decapitated. Nakii went down, and Kav killed Korlan while Nakii was revived. Jezmer got revived as well and was the only one of the family still fighting. Tess curled up next to the corpse of Korlan and let herself die. We found out that Rasha, the third sister, was missing her soul, so Kav told Esmerlen to give Rasha her soul back. He ended up agreeing to have sex with her in order to get the soul back, and the exchange took place. Nakii spoke with her brother and father, wanting to know how they got into debt. They said that they were very poor and came to Korlan to give their lives to him in return for not having to worry anymore. They didn't expect to have more children as Nakii's mother didn't have a womb, but she had more children anyway. They wanted Nakii to be a secret, but Korlan ending up finding out. They were able to get Nakii away where she ended up with Ezmund and his mother. There was one more brother who was out, who they were waiting to come home, but they said we should leave soon. Esmerlen then revealed that the brother is actually in the back, and she forgotten him back there. He was quite dead by then. Kosiku said he could revive two people, and we have him revive Tess and Jezmer. We left after Mist told Nakii's father that if anyone should ask what happened, he should tell anyone that it was because of Shawn Belier. He agreed and Nakii hugged him goodbye. We left.
We went back to our cart and Kav told Esmerlen to woo Ezmund. She tried and failed, and we headed away from the city. A little way away, we took a rest. Esmerlen followed Ezmund into his tent that night and Kav kept watch. Ezmund decided to go to sleep with Esmerlen next to him, not wanting her attention. Instead, of seducing him, she attacked him, damaging him before getting up and heading to Nakii's tent. Mist noticed her being weird and stealthily followed. When Mist asked her what she was doing, Esmerlen jumped in surprise. Mist asked her again, and she claimed she was there because she was attracted to Nakii. Mist convinced her to leave and try later when Nakii was awake. Kav went into Ezmund's tent to play a trick on him, but Esmerlen tried to stop him, attempting to seduce him. Kav just growled back as he wasn't interested in what she was giving. He kept going but she froze him in place. She next moved on to attack Mist. Kav, Ezmund, and Mist were all now paralyzed. When Kara woke up, noticing what was going on, Esmerlen put a knife to Mist's throat and said "The Hex want him.” Kav became unparalyzed and Rashii went to wake up Nakii. When Mist was no longer paralyzed, he went for Esmerlen's throat. She fell backwards and Mist held her down while Kav walked over. Kav held Sunflower to her throat and intimidated her to get information about the Hex. She gurgled and couldn't speak from Mist’s attack, so Woord'n healed her. She said that The Wax-Faced Man and the Hawk-Faced Lady were the Hex Organization. Kav howled to wake up anyone in the party who isn't awake and Kosiku ran out, weapon in hand. Kara checked on Ezmund since he didn't come out, and found he had a cut across his throat. Woord'n went in at Kara's call and healed Ezmund, but he still couldn't move or speak. Esmerlen was going to attack Nakii too, but Mist had stopped her.
We interrogated Esmerlen who said that Korlan was supposed to kill most of the party but had ended up dead instead, so she was trying to do so, and had obviously failed. (They wanted Mist alive). Ezmund could finally move. She agreed to tell us where they were in exchange for not taking her with us. She pointed us in a direction about twenty minutes away, and Kav and Kosiku tied her up with chains and tossed her in the back of the cart. We then noticed driders from Saltier heading our way, so Kav grabbed the cart and Mist jumped on our horse and we ran. We got some distance and lost the driders, and we stopped and hooked Streak onto the cart before continuing. We finally stopped to rest again and slept for the rest of the night. When we got up the next "day", Kav cut out Esmerlen's tongue so she couldn't give away our location and let her go. We continued.
As continued forward, we started to smell the nasty smell of bad meat cooking and sent Rashii to scout. Soon, we came across what looked like a bakery in the middle of the nowhere. It seemed to be the same bakery that Mist came across as a child where he first met Emily. We opened the door and watched Rashii fly in. Since she was okay, we all went in. Mist told Kav to bash a hole in the wall where the door to the basement used to be but is now a wall. He created a hole but there was nothing there. We found that when we shut the front door, the stairway to the basement appeared. Kav smashed the wall again, creating a hole large enough for us to get through. We sent Kav down the stairs first, and then Woord'n sent Rashii to scout with him and at the bottom she found an iron grate/door. Through it was a dank wet room. Rashii saw nine stone coffins. Leaning against the opposite wall was a hooded figure that watched Rashii. We all went down the stairs. Kav headed in with Woord'n and tried to give the guy a pie. He said he didn't want it as it turned him into a shade of himself when he last ate one. The guy turned out to be a shade and we tried to convince him to let us meet Emily or the Wax-Faced Man, but he wouldn’t let us through. The conversation was frustrating and went in circles, so Kav attacked him with his ax and a skeleton came out and we fought.
We came out of the fight successful. Or at least we thought so. The shade shifted into a coffin and came back out again, all healed and mad because getting killed hurt. Kav chucked Woord'n, after getting their go ahead, to turn them into a missile as they used fluff fall to speed up their descent instead of slowing it. They were launched at The Shade of Himself, using a radiant ability to drive their fist into his face. His face disintegrated and body dissolved as Woord'n went through him, bounced off the wall, and landed. He went to a different coffin and came back again. Mist threatened him that we can keep going and he'll eventually end up dead by us. Nakii and Kav, both intimidated him as Woord'n tried to convince him. He finally caved, dissipating and floating through the ceiling.
We tried to open a coffin and ended up having to kill a zombie. Deciding it wouldn't be worth it, we choose to continue instead. In the next room, we heard chanting. We sent Rashii to scout and she saw four priests at a table. We walked in and they told us that Mist, Kav, and Ezmund may continue on to see Emily, but the others must stay behind. Kav summoned his fire elemental into the room and, we decided to split up, with one of the priests leading the three of us forward. In the next room, we saw two autopsy tables with dead bodies cut up at every joint. A grate slid down, covering the door to the room behind us and separating the two groups. We went through a curtain to the next room with no other option available. The next room seemed to be a storage room, so we walked up to a bookshelf. The priest waved his hand and the shelf vanished, leading us into one more room. The last room had walls lined with cages that held a variety of beings. There were probably 20 or more cages. Emily was also in the room, lying on the one bed that was in the room. The Wax-Faced Man and Hawk-Faced Lady were also there. On the bed there was also an old man. Mist talked with Emily, and it was revealed that the old man was Rufus, the man who took Mist in as a kitten and who was also Emily's father. He was babbling and not coherent. He seemed to no longer be mentally aware and had completely lost his sanity.
Back with Kara, Woord'n, Kosiku, and Nakii, they were trying to distract the priests in order to follow us. Mist continued to speak with Emily and from what we gather from her and the others in the room, the Hawk-Faced Lady and Wax-Faced Man were trying to gather a large amount of shadow magic. This was why only Ezmund, Mist and Kav had been allowed to come with. Nakii and Kara in the other room, attempted to seduce the priests. It failed and Kara and Nakii started chanting, so Woord'n walked over to smack them, but they faceplanted in between them on accident instead. Mist, Kav, and Ezmund realized that Kosiku, who was now a vampire, was undead, and could have come with us, so Kav said so through our telepathy circlets. Kosiku was told he has shadow magic and Nakii asked for help to stop chanting against her will. Kosiku went to touch her to focus. Kara freaked out and since she was now pissed, she was able to break free from the chanting. Kosiku put some magic into Nakii, and it hurt her, but with that pain she was able to break free as well. The priests looked at them and stopped chanting. The fire elemental was trying to melt through the grate blocking Nakii, Kara, Kosiku, and Woord'n from Kav, Mist, and Ezmund, but it wasn't doing well. Kara, Nakii, and Woord'n attempted to confuse the priests, trying to convince them that they were wrong about directions and through the grate was the way out. They succeeded and are able to move past the priests to the grate, where they found a button that opened the grate, and they are able to move forward.
The Hawk-Faced Lady informed Mist that they were going to drain him of his powers. When Mist asked why, she said that Emily needed the power, revealing that that was what they wanted the shadow magic for. They wanted as much magic as they could possibly get in order to transfer it to Emily and make her incredibly powerful. Kav, Mist, and Ezmund tried to keep the Hawk-Faced Lady and Wax-Faced Man occupied for as long as we could, distracting them by asking questions. But the two started to move towards us. The other group made it to the final room just in time, reuniting us. The Wax-Faced Man attacked, and we fought. The Wax-Faced Man went after Mist, knocking him to the floor. We all got pushed back and he went after Mist again. Trying to damage the Wax-Faced Man, the fire elemental lobbed a fire ball at him, causing his face to start melting. As we fought, we found that every time we used shadow magic, it seemed to effect Emily as her face turned grayer and grayer, and her eyes turned a pure black. That was when she stood up from the bed, her broken legs hanging in the air as she was levitating. The fight continued, and lost to the madness of the shadow magic, Emily killed Rufus as she summoned a dark star. Enraged, Nakii turned the Hawk-Faced Lady into a mouse, ran up behind her, and punted her. She left Kara's storm pillar, getting fried by lightning, turned back into a person, and flew through the fire elemental, only to land at Mist's feet, crashing as a charred corpse, lightning arching through her hair, a mouse tail still sprouting out of her. The Wax-Faced Man melted a little more as Mist put his foot on the Hawk-Faced Lady's head and aimed his gun at the Wax-Faced Man and shot. The Wax-Faced Man looked at Mist in fear before getting hit in the center of the forehead, falling dead.
Mist turned to Emily, begging her to remember him and herself as she cried tears of blood. Angry and upset about how she was mistreated by men and that she was whored out by the Hawk-Faced Lady and Wax-Faced Man, Emily does not want to stop her shadow magic. She will never be a plaything again. Trying to put an end to the fight, Kara casted a spell to put Emily to sleep. Even though, Emily laid asleep on the floor, the dark star was still active, growing steadily bigger. Wondering what was happening, Kav threw Kara's snake at the dark star, finding that it disappeared into it. Mist, recognizing it as a Dread Star, knew that it was rogue shadow magic that will continue growing in size indefinitely unless stopped. Mist sat on Emily, purring, as he tried to control the star. Mist reached out, coating his paws in shadow magic and pushed it smaller and smaller until it dissipated into non-existence. Emily returned to normal, still asleep, and the group tried to figure out what to do with her. We discussed leaving her with the old adventuring crew of Kosiku (Lavi and Lilith, of the War on Heaven campaign) and taking her to the hut where Kav grew up to rest.
While figuring out what to do next, Kara used a radiant power to attempt to open one of the cages, but ended up killing what was inside. Realizing that wouldn’t work, Kav jumped on one of the priests, who had all come into the room, killing him, and finding a key. We used it to free the animals and people left alive in the cages. After they had all fled, Kosiku used his magic to teleport our group away from the Shade, including Emily and the dead body of Rufus. We stepped out into the sun and were blinded by it. When our vision returned, we saw the hut with an old woman standing in front of the door, her arms crossed. Kav dropped Emily and Rufus' corpse to the ground. Next to the hut was our original horse, Trickle, who was now nice and plump, and our other horse, Streak, and the cart that we left outside of the pie shop were there as well.
She said to Kav, "Took you long enough to come home," and walked over to him to box him on the ears. Kav is confused why Genetria still is alive, thinking her dead, and asked her, but she refused to say. Instead, she told him that she wanted Sunflower back. He refused, claiming it as his now. Genetria turned to Ezmund and told him that someone was waiting for him inside. Though Ezmund wanted to head in, Kav said we couldn't trust her because he had killed her. She shouldn’t be standing there. She finally told us that she came back to life because Sunflower brought her back and Kav hasn't been using it right. Woord'n, curious about Genetria, went to poke her on the leg, and found that there was a human illusion, with a worgen underneath. She dropped the illusion. Apparently, Kav was turned by her husband before he got killed by Kav's father. She wanted Sunflower back, and they argued about it. Kav told her to get the person inside the hut and bring them outside, and as she did so, he told the rest of us once again not to trust her. When she returns with the person who was inside, Ezmund was shocked to find it was his mom. He rushed to her, as did Nakii. Kav walked away to meditate as Ezmund and Nakii talked with his mom.
His mother didn't want to find Ezmund because she knew if she did, she would put him in danger, and she didn’t want that. He learns that people had been after her because she could shift her element between all the different primal elements (fire, ice, thunder, earth), which is an extremely rare ability. She wasn't sure if Ezmund had the same ability and she didn't know if there was a way to help him figure it out, so he went off to meditate. Nakii followed Ezmund's mother inside as she offered to cook. Rashii was sent in as well to check it out. After hesitating and multiple checks, everyone but Kav and Ezmund headed inside. Kav and Ezmund chatted, Kav uncertain what to do as he didn't believe that it was actually Genetria. Ezmund's mom finished cooking and called out to Kav and Ezmund that food was ready. Kav growled at her, convinced she was also not actually Ezmund's mother. Ezmund disagreed and headed into the hut. The food was delicious. Kav went to the hut and tried to put Sunflower into the wall, but a magic barrier stopped him. He slammed it into the ground and walked away to sit and sharpen his bastard sword. Woord'n, who had Rashii watching Kav, told us what happened and Nakii went to talk to Kav. Kav was pissed at all of us for not listening to him.
Genetria walked outside and grabbed Sunflower, taking it back to Kav, and dropping it in front of him, saying that he should come eat. She turned around to go back inside and Kav attacked and injured her. She stumbled but continued forward. He attacked again and she collapsed to the ground. When Woord'n tried to heal her, Kav tried to bite them. Kosiku grappled Kav and dragged him away from the body, so Genetria could be healed. Kav got away and walked up into the air. Kara put Ezmund's mother to sleep so she couldn't fight or get in the way. Ezmund pulled Genetria into the hut and out of the way of danger. Woord'n healed Genetria before running outside and attaching themself to Kav's face. Mist, having gone inside, attempted to convince Genetria to talk to Kav and when she said that wouldn't be helpful, he smacked her. Kav went 90 ft up in the air and tried to take Woord'n off his face but failed. We tried to convince Kav to come down and talk, but he refused. Woord'n tied a rope to their ankle and dangled it to the ground. Kav finally decided to come down, even though he didn’t think it would help, so he launched himself toward the bed of roses. Kosiku grabbed the rope and pulled Woord'n away from Kav. Woord'n let themself fall to the ground, crashing into it and leaving a foot deep crater. Kav landed in the bed of roses, leaving a 10-foot crater and blowing away all of the flowers. Still cross, he went inside to talk to Genetria, and they managed to talk it out, and hug though somewhat awkwardly. Emily and Ezmund's mother were still asleep, so we attempted to wake them by pouring magic water on their faces. Emily woke up though Ezmund’s mother didn’t.
Genetria took Rufus' body outside and grew plants underneath it, and then used magic to encase him in quartz, making him look like he was resting on a bush for eternity. She then offered to take in Emily. We accept the offer and Kosiku told her to look for Lavi Arna and Lilith to help Emily with her powers. We rested and woke the next morning. Ezmund's mother finally woke from her magic sleep and Ezmund and Nakii tell her about Nakii's family, and she starts sobbing, both happy and sad for her. We found out that it's been eleven months since we went into the Shade, so we have a month left to save Yawato and Wardenia. Emily and Mist bid each other goodbye, as do Ezmund, his mother, and Nakii. Genetria opened a portal, sending us to the Inner Circle of Hell.
We arrived in Hell and went to a place next to a large building called the Ho-Tel. We were under a large glass dome in a garden next to a nice cottage. Kosiku told us he has been in the Ho-Tel, and we should not go there as you have to face your worst fears there. He also informed that the house was Satan's and Lilith's, his vampire mother and her fiancé. Kav walked right up and knocked on the door, calling out to Lilith that Kosiku was here and a vampire again (he continued this teasing the whole time we are here). Instead of someone we expected, a male vampire opened the door. His name was Vlad, and informs us that Lilith wasn't in. Kosiku stepped forward as Lilith's "son" (as she turned him) and we were allowed to wait inside until she got home. Vlad went to Satan to ask if he would meet with us, and hearing the Kosiku was there, he quickly came down. Satan asked why we were there, and we explained that we need to fight Jaz-Kordik. Satan didn't think we could do it, but we convince him we should at least try. So, when we asked him about Jaz-Kordik and Shawn Belier, he is willing to tell us, though he needed to get the information. He walked off and came back a half-hour later to give us the news.
First, Killing Jaz wouldn't fix the curse and Jaz would be out 1,000 years sooner than we originally thought as he was working his way out. At this rate, he'd be out in 10 years instead of 1,000. Second, the curse will start off by mind controlling everyone in Yawato. All crops would die, and no rain would fall for one generation. All of the mind-controlled people would fight against everyone in the surrounding provinces, but with no weapons so everyone would probably die. Third, Shawn Belier didn't actually exist and was a created being who had been made to enact the curse. The good news is, only three blue abishai were left, and that's all the minions Jaz-Kordik had left. If we killed them and Shawn, that should stop the curse.
Lilith got home and came into the room, followed by Jeroh (War on Heaven). We spent a week in Hell, getting an enchanter to put enchantments on our weapons that would help us with the fight. We got our items back and Satan opened a portal to the Demon Hold, the jails of Hell. We stepped into the room and in the middle behind large bars was a 50-foot-tall Jaz-Kordik who was a pit demon, three blue abishai, and two broken blue dragon statues. Four inanimate gargoyles held large chains that were attached to Jaz. The three blue abishai vanished and Jaz told us to fight him. In our attempt, Kav pulled out the decanter of endless water to blow a river at the demon, but it just evaporated under the extreme heat. Woord'n attempted to attack him with radiant magic, but it couldn't get past the bars. After we decided it would be the best option, Kosiku dashed forward and slammed a key from Satan into the lock and dashed back. The cage around Jaz shimmered and then vanished. Jaz-Kordik ripped his arms forward and broke the gargoyle plinths, detaching the chains. We fought.
After much fighting, holy magic, and Jaz taking a second form, we were able to defeat and kill him. We gated back to Satan's mansion, where we were led inside, and we rested. The next morning, ready to keep going with our journey, we asked Satan for help with fighting Shawn. He couldn’t do much for us, but he did send Jeroh and Vlad to fight with us. Thanking him for all his help and letting Lilith know about Emily, we opened a gate to the Fortress of Blight. On the other side, we found that the ground that had been green was now charred. We asked about what had happened and learned that a large beast from the east came and attacked, then headed to the west, across the ocean. We asked the orcs to join us in our fight on Yawato and they agreed. When everyone was ready, we used a gate to send the orcs to one side of Yawato and we another for us as well. As we came out, we found the streets of the inner circle empty. Snarf came to Kav to tell him that all the humans of the inner circle were dead, all but three. The rest of the city had fled, all but the guards who shambled and stunk. Kav sent Snarf to Genetria to recover, and we headed to the streets.
Rashii was sent to scope out the plaza, where she saw hundreds of corpses, enough to completely cover the ground. Up by the castle courtyard, Voorhiz stood, stained red by blood, with Raquel and Screel standing next to her. To get through the corpses, Mist sat on Kosiku's head, and we crossed the square. Voorhiz took off her helmet and pulled a tattered note out from her armor (from Kav). She was pissed that we left and were gone for a year, leaving Shawn in charge. She informed us that though she was in her right mind, Screel and Raquel were being mind-controlled. Kav fought Voorhiz as she said if he wins, she'll let us pass. Kav moved in to kiss her and succeeds. While the two fought, Mist ran up to Screel and knocked him on the head with his gun. Screel closed his eyes for a second and when he opened them again, he was back to normal. Voorhiz raged, then kissed Kav back. They jumped into the air and crashed back down, leaving a crater in the staircase. Seeing that it had helped Screel, Mist ran over and knocked Raquel out with his gun, and she returned to normal as well. Kav won the fight.
As the fight came to an end, we turned around to find Jalen standing behind us with six robed figures, the leaders of the Hood, as well as the rest of the Hood behind them. Voorhiz said she'd handle the Hood and Raquel would help, while Screel decided to join us. Jeroh and Vlad decided to stay and fight with Voorhiz. Kav and Voorhiz kissed one more time before we headed up the stairs and kicked the door open, ripping it off its hinges. Shawn was standing there with the remaining blue abishai. He told us he wanted to break away from the blue abishai to do stuff for himself and told them to go away, but they refused. In retaliation, he sent vines to attack them and suck away their life. He still believed he controlled Screel and Raquel, but when he saw Screel standing with us, he was mad and raised his staff. Mist aimed his gun to shoot it while Kav pounced on the throne. Mist's bullet hit the staff, splintering it, and Kav slammed his ax into the throne, doing the same. The throne and staff destroyed, only the crown was left. Angry, Shawn summoned an ancient blue dragon and we fought.
We did a bunch of damage and took a bunch of damage before Kav climbed into the mouth of the blue dragon, Woord'n in tow, and they attacked its tongue. Woord'n applied a vial of worm blood to their sword, and did a spin attack on the dragon's throat. From the outside, we saw the dragon become confused and cock its head to the side. The neck started to list, and Shawn looked very confused. The base of the dragon's neck began to look translucent and after doing 4,824 damage, Woord'n killed the blue dragon, by Woord'n and Kav doing a tornado spin attack in the dragon's throat. Outside, we saw the base of the neck fold and bulge before a sword came out. The head came off with a gap in the neck, but Kav and Woord'n weren't visible as they spun so fast that they flew up into the air, taking the throat and head with them. They flew out, Kav holding the severed tongue. Shawn, still on the head, fell to the ground with it, pissed. We focused on attacking Shawn. He took the crown off his head, offering it to Kara. He tossed it to her, and she picked it up and put it on. The attack on Shawn continued. Woord'n became mind controlled and tried to attack Ezmund but was able to break it. We killed Shawn, but he continued to stand back up. Kav tried to take the crown from Kara, and she attacked him. Kosiku tried to break the crown and failed. Woord'n attacked the crown, doing a little damage but not breaking it. Kara died, but stood back up, like Shawn. Mist shot the crown, nicking it. It stayed in place but shimmered and both Kara and Shawn fell to the ground. Mist ran up and smashed the crown, but it did nothing, so he handed it to Kosiku, who turned it to dust. We had defeated Shawn, and healed Kara, bringing her back to life. The battle continued to rage on outside. In attempt to end it, we chucked Shawn's body outside to let them know it was over, but nothing happened. So, we looked around the room waiting for them to finish as we were exhausted from our fight. Finally, the battle outside came to a conclusion.
When we opened the door, we found Jeroh sat outside, atop a fountain. Voorhiz was bloody, cradling a very bloody Raquel. Nakii ran to heal her, and Kav ran over Nakii to get to Voorhiz and kissed her. Nakii got up, and with help, she was able to revivified Raquel and fully heal her. To the side, we saw a statue move, his arm ripped off and he was bleeding. Woord'n ran over to heal him. He said his is name was Felix (of the Pillars of Sypetia campaign). He turned into a Valkyrie and flew away after nodding his thanks. Jalen and the Hood all were dead and Yawato was in shambles. The orcs had arrived while we were inside and had helped defeat the Hood, and we exchanged pleasantries with them before they left. We used our last Wish to bring the innocents killed in this battle back to life.
Woord'n left, going to the Fortress of Blight with the orc army. Mist decided to stay in Yawato, helping it rebuild. Ezmund headed south to Awayashi, once again chasing his mother, and Kara and Nakii went off together to roam. Screel remained with Raquel in Yawato. Kosiku headed back to Hell with Jeroh, as Vlad was lost in the battle, and he wished to inform Lilith and Satan. Kav wanted to leave, but Voorhiz wanted him to stay. He wanted answers about his weapon, and she wanted to help him but as he wanted to leave, as she could do nothing. Voorhiz punched him and he decided to stay for a while. He did still leave for a bit, heading back to the hut where Kav gave his ax, now named Sunbelle, back to Genetria who put it back in its place on the wall, before he headed back to Yawato. And we separated, going our own ways.
