(A quick note here, I've added these synopsis for people to go back and remind themselves about what happened or if people come in later and don't want to start at the beginning, they can read these really fast, but they are not a replacement for watching our videos as they are not full descriptions. If you don't want to video, you will miss most of the comedy and all of the fighting as I am not going to do a play by play of each attack. So, please check out our videos)
Day 19 1/11/2023 Episode 29 and 30
Aping
We talk with Eugerel and give him some of the antidote to the poison as well as one vial of the poison. An elf comes in from behind us in decent armor, likely a soldier, and the grand master tips out a small amount of the poison onto a tray and gives it to the elf to inhale. The elf does so. After about a minute, blood starts to come out of the elf’s eyes and ears. He starts to shake and falls to the floor in full convulsions and he chokes on his own blood. Az kneels and pores about a quarter of his antidote down the elf’s throat and holds him down, with Idham’s help, to stop the convulsions. A minute and half, the seizing slows and stops. The soldier takes in a shaky breath. The commander steps forward and pulls his sword out to stab the soldier in the head. He says it would have brought down morale. He tells us that if we don’t want to be eliminated as well, that we should leave. Three more soldiers come in and the commander hands a vial over. Gwyneira mentally tells Idham to hold his breath and Idham relays. Gwyneira shoots a bolt at the soldier’s hand and he drops the vial. The soldier grabs it with his other hand as his other hand is holding limp from a few sinews. He has grabbed it and is locked in place by Xander. Idham commands him to drop the vial. He opens his hand. It falls. The grandmaster dives for it. Idham tries to stop him but fails. Az comes in and slices through the tendons on the grandmaster’s hand and it falls limp. The vial falls to the ground. It breaks and the red dust puffs out. The two soldier’s eyes pop and blood gushes from all three. They seize and fall to the ground in a pool of their own blood. The grandmaster stands up and turns to face us, eyes bloodshot. He pulls a sword and stops and his muscles are tensing. He coughs and a massive glob of blood spurts out. The blood starts to trickle out. His eyes pop and he seizes and falls to the floor.
We run for the exit, lighting the building on fire as we flee. Felix goes through the window and the rest of us run. This place is definitely lighting on fire. As Az is sprinting out, we watch as the flame that’s around the wall shoots back down the hallway. The room above us explodes. The windows blow out and flame spews out. The powder is probably flammable. We grab some horses and attempt to flee. We go around a corner, and Xander’s horse goes down. Az is able to teleport Xander up onto his horse. We are now riding along the road. We thunderingly rode out the gate two minutes later. As we go thundering out of the gate, we see Valira standing there, arms crossed. Idham pats the back of his horse and she teleports on, sitting side saddle. We slow to a trot and head toward the coast. The wind is blowing away from us.
Outside Aping
We are a few leagues away from the city. We pull to a stop. Idham uses the scrying ball to try to find the enchanter. Behind us, Gwyn sees Aping, or a huge pillar of smoke above the city, a reddish tint. The ball gives a trail along the road that we are currently on, leading to a mountain range not too far away, six or seven hours on horseback. It goes into the mountains, stopping pretty close to the bottom of the mountain range. We follow along the road, eat a little, etc. We arrived just outside the mountain range. Rising up from right where it was, we see a large brightly colored bird with a rider on its back, probably Rashakk. It rises up and flies off to the north. We headed to where they took off from. Idham speaks into his mind, saying he breached the contract, and he disagrees. We step foot into the mountain range.
Felix, in his head, hears an audible gasp. And then, “He’s here.” Felix wants to know what he’s referring to. The staff says it’s something far more interesting than the dwarf, but won’t expand. We tie the horses. We head off the path where we get to a valley with a nice pond and stuff. The dwarf is down there, five soldiers, and an empyrean. In the lake, chained down, we see an enormous dragon. It has four wings, the scales seem to be glinting between blue and black. Idham does not know this type of dragon. It looks old, but not decrepit. It’s the largest dragon that Idham has seen. He believes the phoenix has something to do with why it’s chained up. Xander asks Vulkus about the dragon, she’s seen him before. She knows him. For him to be captured like this was a monumental accomplishment. The people seem to be talking and inspecting the chains. The staff says the dragon is a friend. The staff knows him. He knows the dragon is called Gerebor. The staff knows him as daddy. We head down the hill toward the party. They turn to face us and the imperion stands to his full eighty foot height. We talk with them, and say the dwarf stole from us, and he says no.
The empyrean raises a hand and smashes it down on the dwarf. His hand comes up and there is a puddle of dwarf left. Idham takes the items back. We vote over what to do about the dragon, Az mentioning that this had to do with Rashakk and he is our enemy and Felix says the dragon is our friend. Az attacks the empyrean. Nothing happens. Felix moves forward and we hear an echoing boom. We look up and see, coming over the hill, The Raya. A magic infused cannon ball strikes the empyrean in the back. The empyrean stumbles forward, smoke rising from his back. A rope drops down, and sliding down, is captain Raya.
We fight, also cutting the chains as we can. Idham uses the sword he got back from the dwarf and it cleanly cuts through the chains. The battle is on. Xander is able to break the chains on the dragon using the staff. We are able to beat the soldiers after the dragon kills the empyrean.
