The Wrath of Sypetia - Episode 7 and 8 Synopsis

(A quick note here, I've added these synopsis for people to go back and remind themselves about what happened or if people come in later and don't want to start at the beginning, they can read these really fast, but they are not a replacement for watching our videos as they are not full descriptions. If you don't want to video, you will miss most of the comedy and all of the fighting as I am not going to do a play by play of each attack. So, please check out our videos)

Day 6 12/20/23

Episode 7

Sypet Prison

After the battle, both Kav and Casper are wounded, but we otherwise come out okay. Casper is deaf, and Kav has both hazy vision and is blinded. We explore the rest of the prison, finding another 10 cells with skeletons. Kav takes some of the shackles that were on the skeletons. We finish exploring and decide to teleport back to the island. Az, Gwyneira, and Casper climb into the bag and we teleport. As we arrive, Gwyneira sees The Raya still in the harbor. Felix and Xander help Az get settled in so he can recover. We talk with Raya to tell her where we want to go, and she says it will take a day and a half. We rest on the island for a day and a half, then get on The Raya and head for Boliton.

Boliton

This is a full city at the edge of the water, and as The Raya approaches, Kav and Casper have been able to rest long enough that they are fully healed. The city has a massive wall that comes out into the water, with a sea gate that is currently closed. It has four tiers on a solid hill that it is protruding from. It’s made entirely of a white stone. As we approach, a couple of small ships come out to meet us. The Raya slows and raises its sails. These ships are laden with people with lots of weapons, and as we look at them, we realize all of them have guns which are trained on us. They ask if we have anything to declare, and Raya comes over and says just passengers and they toss a pouch down after Raya calls him by name, Samuel. The sea gate opens and The Raya sails in. Raya has the ship pull up to one of the wharfs and puts a plank down. We disembark the ship and as we do so, a boy in his mid teens runs up to us with a ledger. He asks who we are and Kav licks him and tells him his name is Sir Licksalot. The boy puts it in the ledger and asks what we are doing here. We say passing through, but we need to stay the night. Kav also would like the location of a magical shop, as well. They have a whole enchanter's row and the boy directs us on how to get there from here.

The boy tells us where other taverns are and that there is a place that offers illegal services, tells us to go in, and to tell them that Olivander sent us there. Kav picks him up and carries him with us to the place. We go into what is a trading house. The people inside look up at us and look right back down, and Kav holds the kid up higher. Olivander tells us to go downstairs. We do so. As we get down, the floor is a wet dirt. There’s a single room, probably 30x30, with a couple of desks and a table in the middle of the room. Six men look up. They stand up and draw swords. Kav gives the kid a wet willy and then drops him. After the men tell him to go, the kid scampers up the stairs.

Kav grows in size. Mist and Gwyneira can tell that the man we are talking to isn’t afraid of us, but he is more questioning whether if he talks to us, if a bounty hunter will come after him through association. Gwyneira is able to get them to sheathe their swords. He introduces himself as Jeremiah Jacobs. He then talks to us about what kinds of jobs we want to do. Kav tries to see if there is any information they can give us about the pillars, telling them that we want a partnership where we would help them with tasks if they could use their network to find information for us. We talk to create a deal where we will prove ourselves by doing an assassination for them and they will set up a deal with an information broker and if we prove ourselves, we will continue to do jobs for them and they will pay for the information broker.

They pull out eight assassinations from us to choose from on those to assassinate. They are Caranthe - an elf mistress that the lord wants gone, Jorge - a dwarf who runs a shipping company that his rival wants, Sable - a tiefling who has a sizable debt that they want removed so she’s no longer an issue, Kristobon - an old worgen who is said to be killing passerby’s at night, Lysanar - an elf who’s been asking too many questions about one of the lords, Marina - a kelvax who assassinated a noble recently and has taken over their station, Grobat - a goliath that has “lost” four sets of cargo from his ship and has since then purchased a mansion, and Gaelae - a faerie who has conned nobles out of their wealth.

We decide on Kristobon as our assassination target. He can usually be found stalking the inns in the lower section. He has black fur that is starting to gray and one of his eyes is missing. We have until that night to decide how long we need to kill the worgen. We should make sure we go back and talk to Jeremiah Jacobs by tonight, and he will set up the meeting with the information broker. We head out.

Episode 8

Boliton

Kav goes to talk to Ollie, as he is now calling Olivander. The kid tries to walk away but Kav does get him to come over, and tosses him a silver. Kav asks the kid if he can have some friends help watch the inns for Kristobone, and the kid agrees, and also lets us look through his ledger for more money, and then Kav takes it. We tell the kid we will wait at a bar called the Leaky Stool to wait for the kid to tell us when they spot Kristobon, but first go to the enchanters row. Ollie runs off and vanishes into the crowd. We enter the city proper, and it doesn’t change much from the wharf. The buildings just get taller. They do slant upwards as we head further up. It takes about twenty minutes to go to the enchanter's row, and it’s pretty obvious. Kav’s tongue gets very tingly, and the buildings here are much cleaner and the path is well washed. This is a nicer portion. Kav wants to go to the one with the most obnoxious or annoying name. It’s called the Howly Droopy.

Kav goes in and the rest of us follow. Immediately we’re smacked in the face with the smell of incense and smoke. It’s pretty dim but as our eyes adjust, we see that it’s quite well organized. Lounging on a chaise in the middle of the room is a portly man in silks. He pulls out a stick pipe and introduces himself as Eton. He glides to the back of the store, saying Gwyneira needs some items. He pulls out some rings and says they are the rings of coming and going, the originals, though we aren’t too sure about that. He shows them to us, but we say they aren’t what we’re looking for. He grabs out a golden box and comes back. He says he doesn’t normally show this but it was created in the forge of Taba. He calls it The Gate and opens it. A small blue orb sits in the padded cloth. Kav tries to grab it, but the box slams shut. Eton picks the orb up after we ask for a demonstration, and reluctantly uses it, creating a small blue door next to him. Another small blue door appears on the other side of the room. He walks back over and puts the orb back in the box.

We buy the orb, a circlet of remembrance for Kav, some sneaky boots for Mist, and two immovable rods. He tells Gwyneira she may be interested in the shop two doors down, the Wandering Ring. As we turn to leave, Kav notices above the door, a hunk of rusted metal that he recognizes. Kav reaches for it but doesn’t touch it. Eton wants to know if Kav knows it and he tells the whole story, so Eton tries to up the price for us to pay to get it back for Kav as it’s his old gun from when he was in the future. He wants to know if we can prove it’s Kav’s if he'll knock off half the price. He says he will, and Kav grabs it to try to force his will on it and make it go back. It doesn’t work. Gwyneira finds that it’s broken and the magical enchantments are broken, and if someone can restore/repair them, the gun would go back to normal. Gwyneira buys it for Kav and we head out. Running up to us at a flat out sprint is Olivander. He has one last arm than he did before.
