(A quick note here, I've added these synopsis for people to go back and remind themselves about what happened or if people come in later and don't want to start at the beginning, they can read these really fast, but they are not a replacement for watching our videos as they are not full descriptions. If you don't want to video, you will miss most of the comedy and all of the fighting as I am not going to do a play by play of each attack. So, please check out our videos)
Day 6 7/13/2022
The Raya
Ct. Raya greets the group. We head down as the group to our room, so we can discuss what we are planning to do next. We decide to stick to the island for four days or so, until Azazel’s message to his people gets a return message. We go back up to the deck to speak with Ct. Raya. Felix tells Raya if she comes back for us in five days, we’ll give her 10% of the profit. Idham brings up the mortar as well. She shifts her body, seeming interested but uncomfortable. She says she has something to show us since we can see through her, and we follow her below deck, where she shows us a cannon and tells us to look. Looking at it, it looks like a cannon with cracks running through it, but the cracks are all filled with an off colored beige material that looks very similar to the mortar from the island. The one in the canon though looks a bit impure, not as refined. The canons also have the ability to shoot spells. Idham can tell, the mortar that he has is more refined and polished, but also older than that in the canon. The mortar in the canon has been mixed with sand. She says that the canons, as well as the ship, were designed by herself, and others. The ship has the mortar between the boards as well. She agrees to 10% profits, 10% say in what we do with the mortar, but she wants to be the only one who transports the mortar off the island. 50% 50% in decision on what to do with the mortar/who to sell it to, as long as she doesn’t sell it to the Sypetia government for 25 years. She creates a physical contract about what we have agreed to. We collect our gear and they gift us what they can, three lanterns, 1000 ft of rope, 10 10 ft poles, and three full sized tarps (old sails), and we head to the island.
The Island
We set up camp in a clearing away from the beach. We settle in for the night. In the morning, we wake up. Felix transforms into Kav, a burgundy Worgen, 8’ 4”. Ct Raya and six ghosts show up to come join us, helping to bring the golden anvil to the surface. Idham stays in the camp to set up the necessary stations to make the mortar with three ghosts and Ringo. The rest of the group and Raya, plus a few ghosts go back down underwater to grab the golden anvil.
We head toward the stone wall where we found the entrance before. We are able to drag Azazel through with us and dry his wings off after. We all make it back down to the room. Looking down into the city, we see dark shapes and a dark haze. Xander lights a lantern. At the slight rise, we see the shrine to Vulkus. Gwyn speaks in ancient Abyssal and runes do glow and then turn black. Gwyn calls out again, the runes glow darker black, so she stops. We get down the hill and try to push the shadow back again. It only goes back a few feet. Xander switches to daylight, shooting forward and hitting the shadow, making it look like a wall. Gwyn feels like it felt sleepy and lethargic last time and now it’s awake. Felix has Azazel shoot one of his feathers through the shadow wall. The shadow dissolves the feather. Hawthorn steps into the wall. He feels himself tense up and gets the feeling that without the cloak of shadows, he would be hurting. He steps back. Felix attacks the wall with divine flame, and the wall shrinks back and then shots a tendril at Felix who gets damaged.
Gwyn feels that this shadow doesn’t feel quite as immense as it did last time we fought it, even if it is more awake. We leave and head back to the top. Felix stops right outside the door of the cave we were in, pulling out the book and the staff of Fangar. The rest of us head back to the clearing. Idham has a forge all set up already and widened the clearing, quadrupling the size. Idham asks for a list of the supplies from the ship if they can pick stuff up for us. She will be happy to lend us her crew to aid in clearing out the city. She will return in five days to aid us and bring the supplies.
Felix feels the staff much more than he has for a while. He talks to the staff. He is able to converse with the spirit of his dead love, Wisp, using the staff. He then reads for two hours. The rest of us set up camp, making it a very nice base of operations.
We pass the list to Raya, and bid them farewell as they head to one rowboat, leaving us with one. They return to the ship. We get ready to settle down for the evening and night, doing some tidying. Felix meditates, Idham prays.
