Day 4 6/16/2022
In the Mansion
We try to figure out what to do with the body with Allerton and decide to toss it through the portal. Rayvvin thinks of their clan, and they send the body through. The clan Ahfulia is on the other side and the clan is about half the size, and only the warriors are left. The body lands and the clan just stares. We try to get Sterling to think about what he saw when he first came in, but it doesn’t work, and some of the Fae-Touched seem to be looking at Rayvvin. Abcde thinks about the swamp, and the image changes. Abcde uses prestidigitation to clean up the blood. Sterling takes the body of the dead slave down to the others. They stare blankly at first and then Sterling apologizes for what has happened. The slaves take the body. The rest of the group moves to meet Brixert in the foyer. Sterling goes back up, and rushes over to catch up with us. Brixert looks remarkably clean with seven packs on the ground next to him. The group asks Brixert if he has a quick way for us to get where we’re going. Abcde and Caleigh check, Caleigh thinking he’s being truthful, but Abcde realizes that he is holding back a lot. We go to pick up the bags, Caleigh first and the bag she goes after doesn’t lift. He directs her to a different one that lifts effortlessly. We all go pick up our bags as Brixert directs us, and all bags feel light, almost empty. Upon looking inside, they are full. Caleigh asks about getting some money. Sterling checks his bag, and we leave. We realize we still have the stuff for the poor in our bags, so we decide what to do next. We head to the guild hall.
On the streets/guild hall
We’re heading along, see the guild hall ahead of us with the lights all on. A couple of beings step out in front of us. They say, “The Library, the library! You know!” A cloud moves and we can see them. They are disfigured and misshapen. They attack. We quite easily kill three and the fourth runs away, telling us to beware the library. Caleigh turns around, bamfs out her wings, and tells him he better run. We continue to the guild hall. It’s warm and inviting. A middle aged gnome lady comes bustling up to us. She was planning to set us up in the guild affiliated rooms, but we asked to be together and she directed us in a common room. This guild hall is better decorated than other guild halls that we’ve seen, looking quite rich and wealthy. We get put in common room 7 and it has a lot of fancy stuff, like an enchanter's table, inside. We all go through the bags. Abcde heads outside the guild hall and shapeshifts into Allerton to go back to the mansion. Caleigh goes to the Guild of the Church hall. There’s a shrine for each deity with two people at each shrine. She goes to the shrine of Atea. She talks to the elf. Caleigh asks if they have met a champion before. He is confused, saying no, but asks if he’s with one now. She says yes, in training. He calls out to the whole guild hall and she gets a lot more attention than she wants. A high priest type guy comes over and he asks what she needs. She asks for maps of the north asking about the library of Taba, but no one knows what it is. She just gets an order for the maps, is about to leave when she realizes that she hasn’t prayed yet, lights a quick incense and prays before leaving.
Sterling goes and gets a quest. Rayvvin studies the bag, Everlee relaxes, and Chodrak plays with his alchemy kit. The guards stay out of Abcde’s way, turning away very quickly. The guards at the mansion fling the gates open, apologizing to them for having the door closed. Abcde goes inside to speak with Brixert, and tired of playing Allerton, he drops the disguise. He then asks about the teleportation circle upstairs. Brixert chokes on his food and Abcde just tells him to drop it and tell him about it. He says the circle was made for him by… himself? Abcde wants to know if he could go into the past. Brixert says he did, but no one but him has tried. Brixert and Abcde go upstairs, and Brixert stabs him from behind. Abcde uses arcane burst. Brixert grows taller. Abcde runs up the stairs. Brixert uses a bunch of magic to lift up Abcde. Abcde tries to convince him that he needs him so he shouldn’t kill him. Abcde thinks he’s gonna die. Brixert opens his mouth to start spewing out a gas, but he stops and Abcde sees four slaves stabbing him in the calves with forks. He drops telekinesis, and Abcde drops. Abcde runs up the stairs and down the hall. The doors for the rooms blow off the walls and clothes go flying. Brixert cries out as something happens that Abcde can’t see. Abcde runs to the room with the teleportation circle, and thinks about the guild hall. Allerton stands in front of the teleportation circle, head to the side, eyes blank, zombie like. He reaches for Abcde who uses an arcane burst against the zombie Allerton. He stumbles back, missing the portal, falling just behind it. Abcde dashes through the portal. He stumbles and he stands in the muck. The portal closes and they’re alone. They go back inside, seeing Caleigh coming out. She sees them bleeding. They tell her that they were stabbed by one of the creatures that attacked us. Caleigh picks them up and carries them to Rayvvin who heals them. Abcde tries to go to sleep, but Everlee is suspicious. But she decides it’s fine.
Sterling tells us about the quest he picked up. There are wolves outside the town to investigate and kill. Caleigh tells us about the maps she is getting. Caleigh will keep watch, and everyone else rests. Then Rayvvin rests and when they wake up they take over for Caleigh.
When we wake up, everything is the same. We decide to get breakfast. When the door is opened, there is a brand new book case with a desk. It’s full of rolled maps, way too many for us to know what to do with. Artimious says he’s from the Guild of Adventurers so he’ll ask for help getting the maps we need. Artimious goes to get help and we get breakfast.
We leave the guild hall and get the packs to people quickly. We head up the main causeway of Quetares. Where we entered, we now leave.
